Town of Oyster Bay Walk for Autism-
Building Community Together
On September 27th, 2025, the Town of Oyster Bay proudly hosted its 17th Annual Walk for Autism at Bethpage Community Park, benefitting Advantage Care Health Centers. This beloved tradition brought together families, residential programs, local businesses, and community partners to raise awareness and support for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of sponsors, registered walkers, and local businesses, the event raised over $7000. Longtime supporters and new sponsors—including Adventureland, BK Sweeney’s Mario’s Pizza, Wild Honey, Club Pilates, Goldfish Swim, Orange Theory, Uncle Guiseppe’s, Zorn’s and many others—helped make this day possible.
We also welcomed new partners such as BDO, Henry Schein Dental, BioReference, Green Key Resources, Turnstone ABA, and several individual families.
Participants enjoyed a festive atmosphere with music from a DJ, appearances by Star Wars Characters and delicious food and refreshments generously donated by the Town of Oyster Bay. Raffle prizes from local businesses added excitement and showcased the strength of community collaboration.
A special thank you goes to AHRC Jerri Walker and Lynne Brewer for their outstanding coordination securing volunteers, entertainment, and ensuring group home participation. Their efforts embodied the spirit of inclusion and community outreach.
WE are deeply grateful to everyone who walked, sponsored, and supported this event. Your involvement helps create opportunities and resources for individuals with developmental disabilities. Planning for next year’s Walk for Autism is already underway.
Stay connected and join us in making an even bigger event and impact!
