Dr. Snyder is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook – School of Medicine.  From 1993 to 1997, Dr. Snyder was a Clinical Fellow at the Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital.  While at Harvard, he was a Fellow in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Resident in Psychiatry.

Dr. Snyder has over 20 years’ experience in practicing psychiatry.  He is the owner and founder of the Long Island Psychiatric, PLLC, a multi-disciplinary PVT outpatient psychiatric treatment center treating adults and children.  He was a psychiatric consultant for the Westbrook Preparatory School for Asperger’s and High Functioning Autism – SCO Family Services in Westbury, NY.  From 1999 to 2008, Dr. Snyder was the psychiatric consultation-liaison service and consultant to the Ryan White Home Care Program for Children with Aids at St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital in Bayside, NY.  He has been the psychiatric consultant to NPs at Mercy First Hospital in Syosset, the Psychiatrist – Asst. Professor of Pediatrics at the Cody Center, and the Consultation Liaison Service to Pediatrics – Physician-In-Charge ADHD Program at LIJ.

Dr. Snyder has done research on Sertraline for Childhood Major Depression, Atomoxetine for ADD, Nuclear Regulatory Factors in Gene Expression and Serotonin in a Model of Learned Helplessness at SUNY at Stony Brook School of Medicine.
