Michelle began her career working with individuals with disabilities initially as a direct care worker, a Medicaid service coordinator and then as a residence manager.  Michelle obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in psychology from Lehman College CUNY in 1999 and a Master of Arts (MA) degree in psychology from Pace University in 2003. Michelle was employed at Mount Sinai Medical Center as a clinical research coordinator then promoted to a project coordinator within an NIH colorectal cancer research study geared toward minority populations. Michelle then decided to pursue a career in nursing. Michelle received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Stony Brook University SUNY in 2008. After becoming a registered nurse, Michelle worked at Mount Sinai Medical Center in adult psychiatry for over 6 years. Michelle received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing in 2018. Michelle became ANCC board certified as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) across the lifespan in 2019. Prior to Advantage Care, Michelle was employed with Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services assisting individuals in underserved populations facing mental illness for over three years.
