Re:       Dr. Francis Gregory Coffey, PhD   Psychologist

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Francis Gregory Coffey has been providing behavioral health services at Advantage Care since May 6, 2019.  His schedule is as follows:

Monday 11:30AM to 7:30PM
Wednesday 10:00AM to 5:00PM
Friday 9:30AM to 2:30PM

Dr. Coffey received his Doctorate of Philosophy from Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY in 1991.  He received his NYS Psychologist License and NYS School Psychologist License in 1992.  Since then, Dr. Coffey has been in private practice as a practitioner of Cognitive-Behavioral Orientation (CBT) – treating depression, ADHD Autism Spectrum disorders, eating disorders and anxiety disorders.  He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at Nassau Community College in Garden City, NY.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Dr. Coffey was a Sports Psychologist for a professional soccer team, the Long Island Rough Riders, and a staff therapist for the Hofstra Health Dome in Hempstead, NY and the Peninsula Counseling Center in Lawrence, NY.

Dr. Coffey collaborated on a poster presentation at the AABT Convention in San Francisco, CA – Anger Control Training for Parents of Children with O.C.D. and presented an unpublished Doctoral Dissertation – Predictors of Lapse and Relapse during Weight Maintenance.  In 1993, Dr. Coffey, in collaboration with Lightstone, Lazarus, Denny & Richman piloted a grant proposal:  Preventive, Intensive, Low-Cost Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Treatment.  Dr. Coffey co-authored a book of daily meditations titled “The Reflective Counselor published by the American Bar Association in 2008.
