August 19, 2019National Health Center Week (NHCW) is an annual celebration that raises awareness about the mission and accomplishments of the nearly 1,400 local health centers in the United States. This year’s theme is “rooted in communities,” which highlights the long history of health care homes creating innovative solutions to pressing local health issues.
How to Celebrate NHCW with Advantage Care
From August 4 to August 10, 2019, Advantage Care Health Centers will recognize NHCW at both its Brookville and Freeport locations with a slate of special events. The week-long celebration of community care will include both fun and educational activities.
Tuesday, August 6 is Patient Appreciation Day at Advantage Care. Everyone who visits one of our two locations will have the chance to participate in raffles, photo opportunities and much, much more. As we celebrate the special relationships we have with our patients, we will be sharing health-related tips, tricks and tests.

The 2019 National Health Center Week Schedule of Events
From Sunday. August 4 through the following Saturday, every day of National Health Center Week has a unique focus, which expands on the theme “rooted in communities.”
This year’s suggested daily schedule includes:
- Social Determinants Day (Creating Nutrient-Rich Soil)
- Healthcare for the Homeless Day
- Agricultural Worker Health Day
- Patient Appreciation Day
- Stakeholder Appreciation Day
- Health Center Staff Appreciation Day
- Children’s Health Day
National Health Center Week is a chance for patients and staff members to celebrate community care and everything it has come to represent. It is the one week of the year that is dedicated to honoring health centers for the good work they do all year round.
